Family Claims to Have Encountered Lake Champlain’s “Champ”?

Family Claims to Have Encountered Lake Champlain’s “Champ”?

I went fishing once, and I didn’t catch anything. But these people go fishing and they see a fracking lake monster! That’s right, today we’re gonna swim on over to Lake Champlain over on the US/Canada boarder where sometime this summer (possibly in late June 2013) a family of four and one other person say they witnessed the lake’s infamous monster rise from the depths. Martin Jones, his wife Tamara and their two children were out on a fishing trip the day of the sighting. It was getting dark out and one of Martin’s kids caught a Largemouth Bass. This is when they all heard a splash. Everyone turned and saw a big, greenish thing rise from the water. At first they were unable to make out it’s shape. However, there was another man, 48 year-old Peter Clark, fishing next the the family and he was able to describe what he saw. At first he questioned if it was an Alligator, but then he saw that this thing had a round head and big black eyes with an empty look in them. It didn’t resemble a reptile of any kind. Peter could also make out some scales on the side of it’s head, but he said that most of the skin looked like that of a catfish. Then he saw some kind of spike or horn. The creature stayed around for about twenty seconds before splashing back under water, but not before it made a sound that everyone said resembled that of a Whale. Unfortunately, no photos or video was taken of the creature. Sightings like these can really go either way since all you have to go off of is witness testimony. I believe this is the first time that Champ has been heard making any type of noise, and i don’t think it’s ever been seen sporting a horn either. While it definitely sounds like an odd sighting, we just have no way of confirming it really happened. The fact that five people witnessed this creature could help the credibility of the sighting, but it doesn’t 100% confirm it happened wither. We also don’t have a way to confirm if what these people saw really was a lake monster. Now, I have no idea what it could have been, but that doesn’t automatically mean it was a real lake monster. So while I’d like to say whether I believe they really saw a lake monster or that they didn’t, I think I’m gonna have to stay in the middle on this one simply because it could quickly go either way. But, what do you think? Did these five people witness Lake Champlain’s Champ or did the whole encounter never happen? If it did, did they really see a lake monster or was it something more natural?
