I went fishing once. It was boring and I didn’t catch any fish. I walked away from that experience sad. But you know what would’ve made that experience more fun (or terrifying. It’s one of those two)? A UFO sighting, a weird web-footed creature and a Bigfoot like monster. What, you think that’s to much of a tall order? Well let’s take a trip to the Charles Mill Lake in both Richland and Ashland County, Ohio. Since 1959, there have been reports of an 11 foot tall, 1,000 pound ape-like creature terrorizing residents. This creature is known as “Orange Eyes”. However, that isn’t the only thing that supposedly hangs around the lake. An armless, web-footed, green-eyed creature called the “Mill Lake Monster” has also been seen. But that’s not all (channeled my inner Billy Mays there for a second), back in 1973, supposedly there was an encounter between a UFO and a military helicopter over the lake. The UFO was reportedly emitting some kind of “green beam” and the helicopter soon showed up. This has led many people to believe that “Orange Eyes” and the “Mill Lake Monster” are of alien origin. But wait, there’s even more…just kidding. I guess if you want to have a supernatural encounter, then Charles Mill Lake is your destination. I don’t know if any of this is actually true since we have no photographic or video evidence of any of these creatures. Though I’m kind of thinking the UFO sighting could be the only legit sighting. The other two are probably local legends. But who knows. What do you think? Is this lake in Ohio home to some crazy supernatural creatures or are they just local legends?
