New Hampshire - The Dover Jazz Ghost. “50 States of Freaky!” Vol. 29

New Hampshire - The Dover Jazz Ghost. “50 States of Freaky!” Vol. 29

Be sure you’re all caught up with this series! “50 States of Freaky”

———

For some reason, whenever I hear New Hampshire I think of croutons. Yep…croutons. Anyway, let go to Dover, New Hampshire in 1960’s. There’s a story of a woman who’d just recently moved there. One night, she was at a jazz club when she saw a man dressed in black with a saxophone. The man was staring at her from a far. Later on, when the woman returned to her home, she saw the same man with the saxophone sitting in her neighbors lawn. Shortly afterwards, she heard the man begin to play the saxophone. The woman looked out her window and saw the man just sitting there, playing away. The next day, she informed her neighbors of the mysterious man in their yard. The neighbor said that her brother loved to go out and play his saxophone on her lawn, but he’d died in a tragic accident 3 years ago.

He was dead the whole time! (*flails arms wildly*) Oh and just incase you’re wondering, no, Dover, New Hampshire is NOT where the Dover Demon was seen. That was Dover, Massachusetts. Just thought I’d clear that up. But back to the ghost story. I’m thinking that this is just an urban legend. When you do a Google search for ‘dover jazz ghost’, not much comes up other than a few ghost story websites. Plus, it has that ‘campfire ghost story’ feel to it. You know, it’s set in older times, someone was out late at night, the ghost was someone who’d died years ago in a “tragic” accident. So I’m thinking that this is just some made up story, but what do you think? Could there be a ghost who loves jazz in Dover, New Hampshire or is this just some internet ghost story?
