Nevada - The Ghost of Elvis. “50 States of Freaky!” Vol. 28

Nevada - The Ghost of Elvis. “50 States of Freaky!” Vol. 28

Be sure you’re all caught up with this series! “50 States of Freaky!”

———-

What? People are seeing Elvis’s ghost in Las Vegas? I completely shocked and totally didn’t see that coming!…said no one. So our next stop in our 50 states of freaky tour takes us to Las Vegas, Nevada where people have been supposedly seeing the ghost of Elvis. In particular, cabdrivers have had some of the weirder experiences with the singer’s ghost, specifically every year on Halloween. Cabdrivers will pick up someone dressed as Elvis around midnight and they’ll be asked to be taken to the Desert Inn. One problem, the Desert Inn was demolished years ago. Thinking that they’re just another drunk Halloween party goer, the cabbies drive them to where the Desert Inn was anyway. But before the cab can arrive at their destination, the drivers discover that the passenger has vanished into thin air. The only thing left behind is a $20 casino poker chip. Cabdrivers in Las Vegas swear this happens every year.

I’ll be honest, I think this is just some urban legend that was conjured by the local cabdrivers in Vegas just so they’d have a cool story to tell their costumers. It just sounds like every other Elvis ghost story. People just don’t want to let go/forget Elvis, especially in Vegas and it doesn’t surprise me. I mean, Elvis pretty much was/still is the face of Las Vegas along with a few others. You can’t think of Vegas without thinking of Elvis. So I think this is just some story that cabbies tell their costumers to entertain them, but what do you think? Is Elvis’s ghost still kickin’ it in Vegas and tipping cabdrivers with poker chips every Halloween or is this just a made up story to entertain people?
